Promotional Video for Trinidad and Tobago

A good friend sent me this Youtube link some days ago and I love it. Naturally, like all good promotional videos, it stresses only on the good and marketable. So with this being the time of year when Trinidad and Tobago can be sold the easiest to both the homesick locals and  and the foreigner, Come to Trinidad and Tobago videos are making the rounds for free. Except for too much pepper in some doubles and straying down some no-no streets alone at night, Trinidad and Tobago will present no exceptional challenges to the average tourist on an average tour.

Icelandic Volcano batters the Caribbean and the World

An aerial photo shows smoke rising from the volcano under a glacier in the Eyjafjallajokull region of Iceland, on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. European air traffic from Scotland to Scandinavia and the Netherlands was disrupted by volcanic ash spreading from Iceland, shutting airports and prompting British Airways Plc to suspend all domestic flights. Just imagine, one volcanic eruption in an island country as unnoticeable as Iceland has the potential to send the economies of European countries in a tailspin and by extension the World. Nearly all air traffic over Europe has been at a standstill since last Friday with its predictable resumption days, weeks, or even months away. This one volcanic eruption, spewing supposedly aircraft-unfriendly ash, has changed the world temporarily or even permanently. Some may doubt it but the effects of this uncertain flight disruption, now and in the future, will not only bankrupt many airlines but people. Even if flights were to resume in a day or two the European tourist market will shrink due to the unpredictability of traveling to and from Europe, rendering penniless many small businesses that depend on air cargo and travelers.

The economies of many tourism-dependant Caribbean nations will be devastated even more than it already is if travel to and from Europe declines, and it will. I think these Caribbean countries should start to market more in North America, South America, and even China, Japan, Australia, Malaysia and forget Europe for now. The economies of scale has prevented the people of these Caribbean islands from being anything more than a people who have to wait on others to make ends meet and have their tiny island dreams come true.

The Butterfly Effect Undo the West Indies Again

Buttterfly_Effect

So The Butterfly Effect was responsible for undoing the West Indies in the World 20Twenty semifinals today. You see, I just went in the kitchen to get a coconut drop that was supposed to be in the microwave for protection against ants but couldn’t find it so I may have closed the microwave door at the wrong time and a bit too hard which triggered a series of unfortunate events ending with three West Indian wickets falling in the first over at The Oval in England, and before I returned without my coconut drop. Yes, my microwave door and I accept full responsibility for this latest demise of the West Indies Cricket Team.

It now appears almost certain that The Butterfly Effect, triggered by West Indian fans snacking at the wrong times, cause this type of thing a lot especially when The West Indies is batting and sometimes even when Bravo is bowling. All fans are now required to be very still during West Indies matches to avoid further catastrophes.

To make a long story short, The West Indies lost to Sri Lanka in convincing fashion as they barely managed 100 runs in their semifinal match. This loss by the West Indies was a disappointment to Windies fans and an embarrassment to butterflies and coconut drops everywhere.

Interview between Ian Bishop and Chris Gayle after the game ended:

Bish: So what went wrong out there today?

Chris: We got mauled. Weren’t you looking?

Bish: I know you got mauled but why did this happen?

Chris: We understand a certain fan choose to go for his coconut drop at the wrong time and well, the rest is history.

Bish: Do you plan any action against this fan?

Chris: The team will take a vote on it later  but initial outrage seem to point to a good cut ass for him.

Bish: Well, I will leave you to it then.
