RBTT Crap Continues in 2011

RBTT lies to customers

RBTT, or is it RBC, is what most customers call the new Public Service and in Trinidad and Tobago this says a lot. By that I mean it is not an organization that cares about its customers. This is why RBTT decided to shut down its electronic banking system over a weekend and as if  it wanted to make the public service look good, the disrespectful bank  also lied to customers. When I say lie I mean put out an ad saying it was shutting its electronic banking service and in bold say ONLY AT WITHDRAWALS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. That was and is a lie. Most customers were unable to access cash from ANY AMB since Saturday evening and this was still so on Sunday morning. Maybe somebody high up at RBTT is being fed bullshit by the incompetent RBTT IT people just as the AG was fed crap by his investigators.  I again say, somebody at RBTT has to be fired for this continuing indifference to customers.

Proof of RBTT's flair for lies

Maybe people were fired the last time a huge fiasco occurred but the public needs to know that the bank is getting rid of its incompetence. To correct this continuing incompetence and indifference by RBTT to customers, people need to show the bank who has the power. Money talks but money also walks.

  1. Nah nah. Doh try that one.

Most customers were unable to access cash from ANY AMB since Saturday evening and this was still so on Sunday morning.

That receipt might only be proving you asked for money than you have in your account. For all we know you ent even have a $5 to come through the counting machine. (^_~)

That being said, you sure dey ent get flood out again?

  2. Please keep rbc out of this. The only fault I can see rbc should be held accountable is that they have done nothing with rbtt. Look at rbc’s operations in Barbados or Bahamas. Rock solid. Rbc seems to be waiting to see how much money rbtt can lose and how many customers they can piss off before it will let its own Caribbean team take any action in Trinidad.

    • I am not sure what involvement RBC has with the RBTT operations in Trinidad and Tobago and I was hoping it would have been positive. Maybe the need to have RBTT and RBC on the same IT platforms is causing these fiascos lately – I don’t know. I can only hope RBTT appreciates why customers were and are still in a rage.

      • I can tell you for sure that rbtt and rbc are on completely different platforms. Rbtt were already in the process of “upgrading” their systems before rbc bought them. So rbc is watching to see how this system works before bringing it into their network. So far it is less than impressive but it may get better as all the users get up to speed on it.

        • Thanks for the info. I thought it was an integration issue which can be a pain at best. What I hope is that RBC dosen’t demand that RBTT upgrade to the RBC platform. This can mean frequent outages for customers again.

          • Lol. From what I’ve seen and read, why would you want to have a stable/useable internet banking system, or atms that are up all the time? Long lines are nice cause it gives you time to chat. :S ah perhaps things will get better. But how long will it take? Rbc has it now and they ain’t pushing it. Canadians always to polite it rock the boat even we its their own money.

          • @ Observer… I totally agree with you. Facts being stated here the RBC IT Platform is way more reliable than the new platform RBTT is trying to use. It might be more updated and a lil advanced but upgrading the RBC system would not have taken half the amount of money RBTT invested in their system. I guess it’s the parent sticking something the kid bought and hoping it was not a waste of money instead of demanding it being brought back and use theirs.

  3. rbc observer – Lines are a banks best friend because it teaches customers who is boss. From what I understand, many customers were affected over the weekend and I only hope RBTT puts up an apology so that customers can have something to rip up and burn. Since I didn’t see an apology just yet it may mean that the problems are not over and no end is in sight – I really might be wrong but a little source tells me otherwise.

  4. Ok, everything worked fine this morning but I know I will panic the next time RBTT puts out an ad saying some services will be down. I don’t trust them to inform correctly.I don’t trust them, period.
