This blog supports Kevin Baldeosingh because this blog…
- …believes in integrity
- …is against hypocrisy
- …supports people of intelligence and honesty
- …is against cover ups, regardless of imaginary heavenly or social affiliation
- …is against any newspaper that tried to hide vital truths from the public since that newspaper’s opinions are now tarnished beyond shine
- …understands people who hide vital truths from the public is part of the real problem
- …understands that hiding the truth doesn’t create integrity
- …is disappointed that a newspaper has stooped so low
As a result, this blog has decided to not buy any newspaper that has supported people without integrity, especially newspapers that fire those with.

Great post. I can’t belive they fired him. Guess that’s what you get for writing the truth.
Mr. Baldeosingh should consider to do his own “online alternative Trini News”, who knows what else comes to light that way.
Aka, I think if you do decided to not buy any newspaper that has supported people without integrity, you might not buy any paper at all.

Chica, I agree that newspaper editors can be hypocritical but in this case we were talking about a potential member of the Integrity Commission. Why did the Newsday not go further? Were they protecting someone or some institution or some friend? Then Mr. Baldeosing was fired because he gave the story to another newspaper. We are not talking disobedience by a journalist but a cover up by a Newspaper.

These days news channels and news papers have made mockery of real news. They focus more on sensationalism & the real purpose is lost. You got to watch the kind of news channels we’ve here in India… I watch them not for news but for some serious laughter. ‘SHAME’

Aby, the media business is competitive and sometimes when there is no news the media has to create it. The public is the cause because the media is feeding the public what the public craves. Celebrities are celebrities because we give them permission to be that way. We make them so we can break them. We make the media so to we can break the media, and sometimes the media deserves to be broken. The media behaves like the Government sometimes and forget who keeps them alive.

I liked to be call hot
I still can’t get over the vindictive and dishonest ways the newsday employed. They went from hero to zero in record time. Right now, even for free, I won’t buy the newsday.

i support the stance for many of the listed reasons and also this quote that i saw in discussion of the same topic in another forum…
“why are you all acting like the Newsday is somehow a real newspaper ?”
and probably the most telling one (to be verified)
“Kevin approached the Newsday with the story first. They refused to go with it.”

From what I read, he did approach the newsday first but probably having friends and cults to protect, they refused to act. Editor’s interest will always come before public’s interest.

Crazy…so much for speaking the truth…I guess they so use to lies that they don’t know anything else

Why is everyone acting so surprised? Did you really think the news media are there to tell you the truth? To defend democracy? C’mon, guys. Over the years I’ve lost faith in every one of our local newspapers. Except for the Independent. And I supported that one mainly because all my favourite columnists ended up across there.
I’ve always been a fan of Kevin’s work. He tells the truth, like it or not. He takes no prisoners. No cows are sacred. I like that. (And he has curly hair.)

There is almost a discussion going on at BC RAW.

Liane, I agree with you. As a whole, or even hole, newspapers are there to promote an agenda and that agenda is hardly ever the people. It can be money and it can even be full-page ads, but never the people.

just noticed that you cut out the newsday link… no lip service here…

It is time bloggers get serious and delete offensive links

To call Kevin Baldeosingh the country’s leading columnist is really a bit of a stretch.
