Marc, thanks for the valuable information and I believe Jose Feliciano is an amazing musician and it’s a pity he doesn’t get royalties for Feliz Navidad.

Jose says He’s wrote the song in 5 minuts in august 1970 at his home at Orange California when with Rca managers and producer Rick Jarrard was decided to do a Christmas Album for next season.
Strange things, he says has worked so much for all that album in whole the rest (in fact the Album is really fantastic, Jazz, Classical music, intrumentals, Vocal in english and spanish, new creative level of arrangements for all Christmas classics included here, truly a masterwork) and has worked so little for the Feliz Navidad theme then was in idea only the opening-simple tune for a great classic album.
Strange, the album never reached on the charts but the single become an incredible hit, not only in the US but in all world, South America, Europe, Asia… and for decades!
Sad only the thing then Jose, writer of the song, not has royalties of his song because at that time Rca was buy all for few money….

Those are addictive lyrics and if Jose only suspected his song was going to become a Classic he may have added a verse or two. This song is infectious like dengue
